Camp Program

The Hiram House camp program makes use of the natural environment asHiram House Resident Camping & Summer Day Camps much as possible. Most program activities are developed around the natural features of the camp. Activities which can easily be provided at home are kept to a minimum. Special activities such as swimming, archery, and boating are pre-scheduled. The balance of the camp program maintains flexibility by camper groups being encouraged to help plan some of their own activities. Theme days and special all-camp events round out the schedule.

Supervision

Our program staff is under the supervision of a qualified director and maintains a 6:1 ratio for Summer Junior Day Camp and and 8:1 ratio for Summer Day Camp and Summer Resident Camp. Summer staff consists mainly of college and senior highHiram House Resident Camping & Summer Day Camps school students with experience and interest in child development who are required to participate in an intensive 5-day in-residence training program. Group counselors supervise and lead each camper group. Specialists guide activities such as archery and arts & crafts. Each year, many universities and high schools are represented by camp staff.
