Creating a New Facility for the New Millennium

Why the Need for Hiram House 2000?
For more than a century, Hiram House Camp has succeeded in one of the most important tasks facing any society - building character, self-esteem and a strong system of values within our young. Hiram House Camp has accomplished this by providing countless thousands of children of all races, ethnic origins and economic backgrounds with wholesome, nurturing and positive outdoor experiences and educational programs.
In recent years, however, while the valuable programming at Hiram House Camp has retained its consistent level of excellence, its facilities - the vital framework within which the important work done on behalf of our young takes place - have begun a steady and inevitable decline due to age. Despite the most valiant efforts by the Hiram House staff, it is clear that a long-term solution is ultimately needed.
In order for Hiram House Camp to succeed in helping today's youth face the new, daunting life challenges of the new century, it is imperative that a plan be put in place to provide these young people with the new, updated and improved facilities they deserve.
Hiram House 2000
Hiram House 2000 is such a plan. Bold, comprehensive and multi-faceted, Hiram House 2000 is designed to develop state-of-the-art facilities and programming needed to help children succeed in the dynamic world of the 21st century. The Master Plan for Hiram House 2000, developed though a grant from the Cleveland Foundation, includes:
- Five New Resident Log Cabins
- Outdoor education classrooms
- New dining hall
- Multi-purpose building
- Retreat Center
- Renovation of the outdoor swimming pool
- A variety of other new programs and facilities
The Hiram House hopes to raise five million dollars over the next two years to fund these renovations and revitalize the camp for the benefit of area youth. We are confident that by making the Hiram House 2000 plan a reality, it will provide the dedicated Hiram House Camp staff with the important tools needed to work with today's youth as they confront - and conquer - society's challenges in the new millennium. On behalf of Hiram House Camp, and the youth of Northeastern Ohio, we respectfully ask for your support in helping us to fulfill this important mission.
