Hiram House now offers a new "35-foot Climbing Wall as part of the Challenge and Adventure Program
Thousands of children and adults from throughout Ohio will use the new facility during a variety of Summer Camps, School Camps and Group Retreats. The Climbing Wall will provide campers with fitness opportunities to make positive choices and gain self-confidence.
Hiram House Executive Director Russell Grundke said, "The Climbing Wall empowers individuals to experience and put into practice leadership, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills. The physical, mental, and emotional tasks they accomplish will help to create a positive self-image that benefits them throughout life."
Hiram House Camp was awarded a $5,000 "Get Fit Challenge" Grant from CVS/Pharmacy as part of a $100,000 grant initiative for non-profit organizations launched by the company to support health and fitness programs in the Greater Cleveland area. An additional $10,000 was donated by the George B. Storer Foundation, Inc.
The Alpine Climbing Wall, Challenge/Low Ropes & Adventure Course are currently included in our Summer Camp programs and are optional activities for School Camp and Educational Groups.
For Group Retreats for youth and adults, optional half-day or full-day programs on the Alpine Climbing Wall and/or Challenge/Low Ropes & Adventure Course are also now available.
