SUMMER CAMPS

Welcome Summer Campers!

Registration is now open for the 2012 season for all Summer Campers. You can register online after creating an account.

We currently offer a Summer Day Camp, for boys and girls ages 6 through 11 and a Summer Junior Day Camp, for boys and girls ages 5* and 6 (*must be at least entering Kindergarten in the Fall).

Hiram House also offers a Summer Overnight Camp program for boys and girls, ages 6 to 14.

Horseback Riding is offered weekly as part of all Summer Day and Overnight Camp sessions during June and July. Two sessions of a special week-long Summer Horseback Riding & Adventure Camp are also available in August.

The Alpine Climbing Wall Adventure is included weekly as part of all Summer Day and Overnight Camps.  The popular Farmstead program, featuring baby farm animals and a garden, is also included for all Summer Campers, as well as a variety of exciting hands-on activities, such as archery, canoeing, camp crafts, low-ropes course, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, outdoor skills, performing arts, swimming, wildlife and environmental studies, theme days, campfires and S’mores!

Supervision

Our program staff is under the supervision of a qualified director and maintains a 6:1 ratio for Summer Junior Day Camp and and 8:1 ratio for Summer Day Camp and Summer Resident Camp. Summer staff consists mainly of college and senior high school students with experience and interest in child development. Staff are required to participate in an intensive five-day in-residence training program. Group counselors supervise and lead each camper group. Specialists guide activities such as archery, canoeing, horseback riding and arts & crafts. Each year, many universities and high schools throughout the nation are represented by camp staff.

Medical Examination

In order to attend camp, each camper must be certified by a nurse or doctor within the past 12 months. The complete medical form must be in the camp office two weeks prior to the camper's first day at camp.

Camp Store

Campers can buy snacks and souvenirs at the Camp Store, complete with a Train Station & Caboose. A detailed list of camp store items will be sent upon registration. Campers visit the camp store at regularly scheduled times throughout the session. All camp store money must be deposited prior to the start of camp. These funds will be put into an account for your child at the camp store. No camper should bring money with them to camp.

Refunds & Policies

Camp fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.  In the event of a medical cancellation, $10 of the deposit will be kept as a registration service fee.  There is a $20 charge for any non-sufficient checks.  There is no pro-rated fee for campers arriving after the start of the session or leaving before its completion.  There is a $10 fee for any change after registration. Hiram House is not responsible for loss or damage to any camper's property during the camping season.
